What's new in Frienzy — features, improvements & fixes.

August 2026

All platforms

August brought more control over how your app behaves by default. Admins can now broadcast announcements to every traveler at once, set the measurement system used across the dashboard and mobile app, and decide whether itinerary locations show by default for new trips. Flight itineraries also got more flexible, with editable flight titles and support for travelers who only have a name.

New features

  • Broadcast announcements

    Chat

Send a single announcement to every traveler in your app. The broadcast channel sits at the top of the chat list and travelers cannot reply to it. If a traveler does respond, it opens a direct chat with your team instead.

  • Measurement system setting

    Settings

Choose Imperial or Metric in Business Settings under Localization and Units. Distances, weather, and trip metrics convert across both the web dashboard and the traveler app.

  • Default itinerary location visibility

    Settings

Admins can set whether location details are on or off by default for new trips. Found in Business Settings under Itinerary Preferences, and restricted to admin users.

  • Custom flight titles

    Itineraries

Override the airline name pulled from flight tracking so codeshare and partner-operated flights read clearly for travelers, for example "KLM KL 0642 (Operated by Delta)". Live flight times, gates, and statuses keep updating behind the scenes.

  • Name-only travelers

    Trip management

Add travelers to any itinerary type using just their name, with no email or phone required. This covers minors, families sharing one email, and draft itineraries you are not ready to send invites for.

  • Per-passenger flight details

    Itineraries

Record seat number, ticket number, and booking reference for each passenger on a flight itinerary item.

  • Publish attachments to the Documents tab

    Docs

When uploading a file to an itinerary item or note, choose to also show it in the central Documents tab so travelers find flight passes, hotel confirmations, and waivers in one place.

  • Traveler-specific notes

    Notes

Assign a note to particular travelers rather than the whole trip.

  • Browser notifications for new chat messages

    Notifications

Get an alert in your browser when a traveler messages you while you are on another page or another tab. Chat messages only, and only while you are signed in.

  • Pre-trip and post-trip in the itinerary navigation bar

    Itineraries

Reach pre-trip and post-trip sections directly from the main itinerary navigation.

Improvements

  • Branded emails

Trip invitations, welcome and sign-up emails, and password resets now use your business name and logo throughout on white-label apps. Invite codes are easier to spot and the layout is tighter.

    Emails
  • Clearer itinerary save errors

Saving an itinerary item with an over-long value now names the field that needs fixing instead of returning a generic error. Fields also stop accepting input past their limit.

Bug fixes

  • App wide settings

App-wide settings now apply across traveler apps as intended. Changing the time format to 24 hours, for example, takes effect everywhere unless a traveler has set their own preference.

    Settings
  • Itinerary cover images now save to itinerary library

Saving an itinerary item to the Itinerary Item Library keeps every cover photo in the carousel. Previously only the first image survived, so items imported from the library showed a single photo.

    Itinerary library
  • Hotel checkout cards showing in correct location

In expanded view, a hotel with a checkout date during the trip now appears in the correct date section instead of staying in pre-trip.

    Itineraries
  • Passengers render correctly in generated PDFs.

    PDF Export
  • Messages send reliably on the web panel.

    Chat
  • Times generated by Edit with AI now use the correct timezone.
